Research

Research activity has developed along two major axes:

(1) research on media and academic communication, with a focus on credibility, risk, and institutional identity;
(2) interdisciplinary research at the intersection of communication, the humanities, and emerging technologies.

Research Outcomes:

1. Contributions to Communication and Journalism Studies

  • Publication of nearly 30 studies in BDI- and ISI-indexed journals, addressing topics such as objectivity and credibility in the Romanian press, manipulations in interpersonal and social communication, and the relationship between authenticity and contemporary mass media.
  • Development of impact studies on transformations within the journalism profession, the relationship between local press and European identity, and media discourse during periods of crisis.

2. Internationally Visible Work

Articles published in impact-factor journals (e.g., Symmetry, 2017; Applied Soft Computing, 2019) on interdisciplinary topics such as neutrosophic analysis of language and semantic similarity, in collaboration with international researchers.

3. Development of an Independent Research Direction

  • Analyses of risk communication, persuasion mechanisms, and the limits of credibility.
  • Communication in medical teams.

4. Coordination and Editing of Collective Volumes

Involvement in editing and coordinating volumes such as Romania. The State of the Nation (2013), Romania. Media Studies and Analyses (2017), and Creativity, Imaginary, Language (2014), contributing to the development of an interdisciplinary scientific platform.

5. Research in Cultural History

  • Studies on cultural and local press, interwar journalism, and cultural journals from the Oltenia region.
  • Monographs dedicated to writers and literary critics (e.g., Florin Mugur, Tiberiu Iliescu), highlighting the integration of literary research with media analysis.

6. Scientific Recognition and Academic Engagement

Publications cited in impact-factor journals (e.g., Symmetry, Applied Soft Computing) and in interdisciplinary research across communication, computer science, and social sciences, confirming both the theoretical relevance and practical applicability of the studies. Contributions are recognized in four major areas: media analysis and journalistic credibility; application of neutrosophic methods in language analysis; integration of communication in education and management; and studies on identity and culture.

  • Third Prize for Research Excellence (Scientific Research Gala, University of Craiova, 2018).
  • Member of national and European professional networks (Romanian Public Relations Association, ECREA).
  • Regular participation in international conferences (LUMEN, EuroMedia, MediAsia, CIL).
